Sage Butternut Squash (Baby Food: 9 Month Old)

Sage Butternut Squash (Baby Food Recipe)

I love making baby food for my 9 month old daughter Amelia. She loves food and loves everything I make for her. I want her to be adventurous with food and I believe that it starts early. I want her to be one of those kids that likes ordering off the adult menu when we go out to eat.

So here is my version of Butternut squash ravioli with Sage Brown butter for my baby.  I used all organic products.

What you need:

1 medium sized butternut squash (peeled and cut into 1" cubes)
1 leek stalk (chopped)
2 cloves of garlic (crushed with the back of a knife)
1/2 cup of water
1 tsp of dry sage
Pepper

Place butternut squash, leeks and garlic into a steamer for 15-20 minutes until the butternut squash is soft.

Once cooked, place squash, leeks, garlic along with water, sage and a dash of pepper into a blender. Blend on high to smooth or to the consistency you like.

I serve this with small star shaped pasta (well done) with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese.

Yum yum!

A little note: this smells so good when you steam it...so good in fact that when my husband came home from work he thought it was our dinner.
